What’s up guys?! I hope this week is flying by for you too. I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Tuesday, so today is a lovely surprise.
This is about the time of winter in Pittsburgh where everyone starts bitchin’ and I am no exception. I am soooo over winter. Normally, I’m a fan. You HAVE to be when you live in the Northeast, right? But with the chapped lips, dry skin, bone chillin wind, the static in my hair, and my increasing vitamin D deficiency, this is my white flag waving. Hear me mother nature?! Have mercy one me.

Also, Bentley has all of a sudden decided that he doesn’t want to come inside anymore in the morning. We let him out to play for 20 minutes before work, but with the temps so low it’s been quicker each day. Every single day this week, I have been late to work because I ended up chasing that booger around for 30 minutes in the cold. Today, his little body was SHIVERING and he still wouldn’t come in. I finally bribed him with his favorite cookie and it still took me outsmarting him to grab his collar. What gives? I am a failed dog training at best, so anyone have any clue what is going on his peanut brain?
This is the standoff the occurs daily….Thank goodness he’s cute!

This is amazing. Honestly, if she wasn’t already one of my favorite bloggers, this makes me love her more. I donated (and Johnny called 2 seconds later, thinking his PayPal was hacked. Because it was)
I am seriously in awe of those little nuggets.

I officially am more than half way to 20in30 at Pure Barre. All I have to say is whoa. I’ll write a full recap after, but man, it’s tougher than I thought it would be! My foam roller and I have become close friends again. This is what happens every.night when I try to use it…Bentley gets so confused and tries to get as close to me as he can.

This was my yogi tea wisdom yesterday. SO perfect considering yesterday’s post. <3
That’s it. Have a great Thursday!

Well, I do have a suggestion. Stop chasing him, and then just go inside. When you ‘bribe’ him, you are actually giving him a treat, and rewarding him for his behavior. Also, chasing him – big no-no. This teaches him it is a game, and he should continue to run away from you. I bet you are calling him and talking to him too? This is teaching him when he hears ‘Come’ or ‘Bentley’ that it’s the ‘chase game’ time now, and he should run away.
Try practicing when you aren’t time-sensitive (like time for work), and just ignore him when he’s outside. When you open the door, if he doesn’t come to you (don’t even call him), then just close the door again and wait for him to come to the door on his own.
Cute post!
Thanks, I’ll for sure have to try that! I know everyone always says you are “rewarding him”, but he’s so food motivated it’s hard not to use it
I’ll let you know how it goes!
Yes, please do!! I also will be posting things on my blog about common issues I hear a lot in my business.
check it out if you are interested. I just started blogging, so more to come!
I definitely will!
Haha, I love that your pup is so weirded out by your rolling! He’s all like, “what are you doing on the floor with me?!”
Haha right?! He’s a strange little thing. I’d locked him out of the room, but then he would just cry at the door!
Ha! Those foam roller pictures are awesome.
Haha thanks! I’m just glad I had my phone handy
